Local 36 Mourns loss of Labor Giant

The DC Firefighters Association mourns the loss of a great union leader over the weekend.  Kenneth M. Cox, Sr. devoted 37 years of his life to fighting for the firefighters of Washington, D.C.   Kenny never sought recognition for himself—he simply believed every firefighter deserved a better future than the one they inherited. His leadership and unwavering commitment shaped generations of Local 36 members, and his legacy will continue to guide this union for years to come.

On behalf of our Executive Board and every member of IAFF Local 36, we extend our deepest condolences to Kenny's family and loved ones. Rest easy, Brother.
